just a welcome note

Welcome to The Culture Journal !

If there is one thing, we (in the culture field) can take from the pandemic, it is that the “value of culture” is still very much underrated - but fortunately it is changing. Not only the digital transformation and the dangers of the climate change became more apparent in these long hours, when we all were sitting at home - the need for culture in its multitude of variations became obvious, at least to many of us.

Since at least summer 2020, different people from the CCI (Culture & Creative Industries) in Europe decided to free themselves from the paralyzation of early Corona-fear and decided to use the time envisioning not only a more “green” & sustainable culture industry, but also to increase the voice within Europe and its institutions.

So this is partly, what I will write about. The transformation, the changes, the traditions, the heritage, the events, the conferences… and You, the reader can receive a quick overview and insights into “Culture in Europe”.

PS: As this is only the first Welcome Post, it should be enough to say, that I am quite excited to finally bring this baby to life. It hast been growing inside for pretty much 9 months … and so, now it is here - voilá !
